Lawrence Edward Kruger
Lawrence Edward Kruger, 82, of Roanoke Rapids died Thursday, June 10, 2010.
Mr. Kruger was a native of Cavalier County, North Dakota, the son of the late Leopold Kruger and Amanda Buchweitz Kruger. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Madeline L. Kruger.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Kruger was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church.
Mr. Kruger is survived by two sisters, Alma K. Crockett of Langdon, ND and Shirley K. Krein and her husband, Reuben, of Las Vegas, NV; his brother, Frank Kruger and his wife, Jean, of Wales, ND; several nieces and nephews; and special friend and caregiver, Louise Roach of Roanoke Rapids. The family would like to give special thanks to caregivers Christine High, Geraldine Rook, Polly Banks, Vicky Robinson and Shirley Graham.
Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 14. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, at All Saints Episcopal Church in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Dr. Marjorie H. Holm, Rev. Beverly Huck and Rev. Duncan Jones officiating. Interment with military honors will be held at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids. A reception will follow at the All Saints Episcopal Church Parish House.
The flag in front of the funeral home flies at halfstaff in honor of Mr. Kruger’s service to his country.
